New Mexico agriculture is distinctive and concentrated. The Mesilla Valley around Las Cruces produces the famous Hatch and chile peppers along with one of the largest pecan orchards in the country. Eastern Plains dairy operations — Chaves, Roosevelt, and Curry counties — run some of the largest dairy herds in the United States. Cattle ranches across the northern and central counties span enormous acreages. The Estancia Valley and Northern Rio Grande Valley add hay, vegetables, and the smaller specialty farms.
Tractor donations from New Mexico include John Deere row crop tractors and high-horsepower equipment from the Mesilla Valley chile country, Case IH tractors from larger cotton and chile operations, and New Holland silage and dairy equipment from Eastern Plains dairies. Compact Kubota and Mahindra tractors arrive from cattle ranches and smaller operations. Vintage Massey Ferguson, Farmall, and Ford tractors from New Mexico's longtime farms accepted on the same terms as modern equipment.
From large row crop tractors to compact utility units, combines to skid steers, every type of agricultural equipment donated from New Mexico is accepted — running or not, with attachments or bare, stored in a field or in a barn.
TractorDonations.org runs pickup across New Mexico. Mesilla Valley routes include Las Cruces, Anthony, and Deming. Eastern Plains dairy country coverage runs through Clovis, Portales, Roswell, and Hobbs. Central New Mexico pickup includes Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Belen.
