Tennessee agriculture spans three distinct grand divisions. West Tennessee — Madison, Haywood, Tipton, and Lauderdale counties — runs cotton, soybean, corn, and wheat on Mississippi River bottomland and West Tennessee plain. Middle Tennessee supports cattle, dairy, hay, and the historic tobacco operations of the Highland Rim and Central Basin. East Tennessee's Valley and Ridge country runs cattle, tobacco, and smaller diversified farms across the Appalachian valleys. The Cumberland Plateau and Smoky Mountains add cattle and hay across challenging terrain.
Tractor donations from Tennessee commonly include John Deere row crop tractors and combines from West Tennessee cotton and grain country, Case IH cotton pickers and high-horsepower tractors from larger operations, and Massey Ferguson tractors from Middle Tennessee cattle and tobacco farms. Kubota compact tractors arrive from East Tennessee smaller farms and Smoky Mountain cattle operations. Vintage Farmall, Allis-Chalmers, and Ford tractors from Tennessee's longtime farming heritage accepted on the same terms as modern equipment.
From large row crop tractors to compact utility units, combines to skid steers, every type of agricultural equipment donated from Tennessee is accepted — running or not, with attachments or bare, stored in a field or in a barn.
